"Bihar government is putting roadblocks to central government schemes for the development of the state," Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumarh said at a function 'Kisan Kumbh' as part of celebration of hundred years of Champaran satyagraha of Mahatma Gandhi.
He said the Narendra Modi ministry had decided to produce 13 lakh tonnes of urea in the next three years at Barauni Fertiliser and open 50 Prime Minister Aushdih (medicines) centres in Champaran to provide life saving drugs to the needy at 30 per cent of their actual rates.
Referring to the statement of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar questioning the sincerity of Centre to the farmers, Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said that Narendra Modi government had enhanced Minimum Support Price for paddy from Rs 1300 to Rs 1510 a quintal this year.
But, Bihar farmers were not getting Rs 1510 MSP, he alleged.
"If Nitish Kumar is so bothered about the condition of farmers he should answer why central funds for diary, cooperative and fisheries are returned unutilised," Singh asked.
State BJP President Nityanand Rai questioned Nitish Kumar government's sincerity towards farmers by asking why no scheme on farming included in 'seven resolves' of the state government.
The NDA had kept away from the Bihar government programme on Monday last to honour freedom fighters as part of Champaran centenary function.
