The Delhi unit of BJP organised a traders meet Wednesday where the party leaders spoke about misconceptions regarding sealing, GST and demonetisation, which they said would be huge factors in the minds of traders when they go out to vote.
Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari accused the AAP of trying to "mislead" people by claiming the BJP is responsible for the sealing.
"The AAP had put some banners accusing the BJP of being responsible for sealing. I am against sealing and even broke the lock of a house that was sealed. I was cautioned against doing so because that could mean I would not be able to fight elections, but I still went ahead," he said.
Over 6,000 properties in Delhi were sealed between December 2017 and January this year on the instructions of a Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee.
Tiwari said there were some issues when GST was launched, but overtime changes were made to make it convenient for people.
He said traders had voiced their concerns to him and he had worked to ensure GST was reduced on several items from 28 per cent to 18 per cent.
Delhi BJP incharge Shyam Jaju credited the traders for ensuring demonetisation could be implemented. He said even the ministers were not in the know and said traders supported them.
