Making it clear that there was no scope for any electoral tie-up with either AIADMK or DMK, he lashed out at the Dravidian majors, describing them as "corruption cousins".
To a query over the possibility of his party forging an alliance with DMDK, he told reporters, "From our side another positive thing is that we have never declared a CM candidate and so it is not an impediment, anything may happen, but an answer can be given only by Vijayakanth and not me."
"We are holding dialogue with Vijayakanth as their objective and ours for 2016 (election) is the same which is fighting AIADMK and DMK."
However, he said, "BJP is preparing in all 234 constituencies for any eventuality."
To another question over the possibility of ties with PMK, he parried a direct reply and said, "We are in touch with our associates both active and passive."
"We have time...Why are you in haste, every party is working...Clarity will be there after some days. It is not as if I have come (here) clear on everything."
"Our poll plank will be corruption and bad governance (of AIADMK regime)."
He said DMK could not be a beneficiary of anti-incumbency and alleged that both AIADMK and DMK were corruption cousins.
