BJP's Hazaribagh bandh hits life

Normal life was affected in Hazaribagh following a bandh call by BJP to press for unconditional release of senior leader Yashwant Sinha and others who were arrested on June 2 for allegedly assaulting a JSEB official.
Banks, offices, hotels, petrol pumps, and shops and markets remained closed during the bandh which was peaceful, police said.
BJP workers marched in several parts of the town.
Yashwant Sinha and 54 others are currently in judicial custody in connection with the alleged assault of JSEB Hazaribagh branch General Manager Dhanesh Jha who had been tied by a rope by BJP workers during a demonstration against electricity crisis on June 2.

Meanwhile, senior party leader Raghuvar Das accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Power Minister Rajendra Singh of failing to tackle the power crisis and check corruption in the power department.
Das said it was surprising that although the JSEB were split into four companies, there was no managing director who can take up the responsibility for handling the situation.
