BJP to approach ED seeking probe against kin of M M Mani

The BJP today decided to approach the Enforcement Directorate seeking probe against an immediate kin of Kerala Power Minister M M Mani, accusing him of indulging in illegitimate financial deals.
Party state general secretary M T Ramesh said the party took the decision in wake of allegations that Mani, a senior CPI(M) leader helped land encroachment in Idukki district and his kin was the "beneficiary" of such illegal deal, Ramesh told reporters here.
He said reports about alleged illegal financial activities by Mani's brother were already out and a probe into the matter was necessary.
The BJP decided to approach the Enforcement Directorate seeking probe against Mani's brother, Ramesh said.

There was no immediate reaction from Mani or his family members about the allegations that his brother indulged in financial irregularities conniving with land mafia.
