The Congress vice-president said people are intelligent enough to see through these designs and would vote for his party like their did in 2009 and 2004 elections.
"Congress wants people of all religions and castes to come together to build this country... Riots are engineered by some politicians. People understand this and those looking for development and job will vote for us," he said at a public rally.

Gandhi also accused the Akhilesh Yadav government of failure in implementing central schemes effectively and said Centre had launched numerous welfare projects but all the money disappear in UP.
"Nobody talks of development. When it comes to executing central schemes, our money disappear. You should pressure the government into implementing central projects," he said.
He claimed that Congress-run states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Delhi had successfully carried out developmental projects and living conditions there are muich better.
