"Delhi budget has taken special care of four major issues of Delhi - power, water, unauthorized colonies and security of women besides health, education and transport. Budget of Rs 36,766 crore will provide major relief in all the sectors because there is no proposal for any new tax," Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said.
Upadhyay also said that it proposes relief to the lower and middle income group people suffering from the burden of hefty power bills which is in the form of rebate in the slab of 200 and 400 units of consumption. Provision has been made of 260 crore rupees for this purpose by the Government.
Another BJP leader Vijender Gupta said the Centre has shown sensitivity towards inflationary pressures burdening the common man by not announcing new taxes and earmarking Rs 260 crores for power subsidy.
"The Delhi budget has given a clear roadmap for the development of Delhi as a world class capital equipped with modern, green and planned infrastructure," Gupta added.
