BJP wins Mehgaon seat in keen contest

Choudhary Mukesh Singh Chaturvedi of BJP has defeated OPS Bhadouria of Congress to win keenly-contested Mehgaon seat.
He won by a margin of 1,273 votes.
Mukesh Singh is the brother of former Congress MLA Choudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi who defected to BJP after scuttling the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition party on the floor of the House earlier this year.
Mukesh Singh scored 29,733 votes while Bhadouria 28,460 votes.
