Police have arrested a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader for allegedly making obscene comments about woman district collector on social media.
BJYM district vice-president Prakash Agrawal (38) had allegedly passed obscene comments on a messaging application against the newly appointed woman official on May 21.
Agrawal was arrested last night, the official said.
He has been booked under sexual harassment and defamation charges, said police.
Meanwhile, Agrawal in his statement to the police said the message was posted by mistake and soon he had apologised for the wrong post, said the police.
A complaint against Agrawal was filed by group administrator and Congress leader Mithun Nayak.
He has been sent to 14-days judicial custody.
