A booth level officer (BLO) has been placed under suspension for negligence in poll duty in Odisha's Kendrapara district, official sources said today
The errant official Bijoy Kumar Rout had allegedly skipped duty in Tendakuda polling booth under Patkura assembly constituency during the finalisation of voters' list process on March 9, they said.
"The official was found guilty of skipping poll duty assigned to him. So he was placed under suspension. Any form of dereliction in poll duty would be sternly dealt with", Kendrapara District Collector Ratnakar Rout said.
