BLRO attacked with knife, accused held

A Block Land Revenue Officer was stabbed after getting down from train at Joynagar station in Sealdah South section of South 24 Parganas district today.
The accused, identified as one Dulal Naskar, was caught by locals with a sharp-edged weapon and handed over to the police on charge of attacking the BLRO Biswadip Mukherjee who was on way to office at around 10 30 am, a top police officer said.
A profusedly bleeding Mukherjee, a West Bengal Civil Services cadre, was first taken to Nimpith Hospital and then referred to a Kolkata Hospital as his condition was serious.
Police were investigating the reason behind the attack.
