The body of Gulzar, employed as fruitseller was found from Gangnahar under Niwadi area here, they said.
The victim was missing since Saturday and his body had injury marks which suggest that he was beaten to death and his body was thrown in the canal, police said.
Following this, the relatives of the deceased, along with the villagers blocked the Meerut-Baghpat road thus creating ruckus. The body was sent for postmortem after the intervention of the police, they added.
An FIR has been registered against unidentified assailants following the complaint of the relatives.
