The body of a 55-year-old employee of Neyveli Lignite Corporation, who went missing two months ago, was exhumed from a farm land here and two of his friends arrested in connection with the murder, police said.
The body of Ashok Kumar, HR department official of the corporation was exhumed from the fish pond in the farm land at Pethankuppam, they said today.
His friends, Suresh and Rajesh were arrested after they confessed to having committed the crime during a probe to ascertain whether they had withdrawn money from the deceased's account using the NLC official's ATM card.
They had also admitted that they had withdrawn money from Kumar's bank account using his ATM number, police said.
A missing complaint was lodged by the relatives of Kumar in April.
They informed the police about the withdrawal of money from the bank account of Kumar following which the duo was arrested, police said.
