A senior police officer said the body of the two-day old was unearthed from the backyard of the couple's house and both were arrested from a nearby place.
The couple, whose name was not disclosed, was believed to be parents of the girl who was strangulated and then the body buried in the house compound on October 10, the officer said.
Alarmed by foul smell and jackals frequenting the spot, neighbours dug up the earth and came across the body.
Police sent the body for autopsy.
