Body of riot victim to be exhumed to ascertain cause of death

The body of a riot victim, who was allegedly hanged to death and later buried by rioters in Dungar village of the district, will be exhumed by police for post mortem examination in the district.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the riot cases, has got permission from District Magistrate to exhume the body of Mahruddin, 50.
The agency took the decision after a complaint filed by an NGO activists Rajive Yadav. Sub Divisional Magistrate Munish Kumar has confirmed the development.
According to the FIR registered in Phugana police station Mehruddin was hanged to death by rioters.
Later, his body was buried without giving information to his family and police in Dungar village under Phugana area of the district during September last year.

Over 60 people were killed and thousands left homeless during the riots in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas last year.
