The incident occurred this evening when some motorcycle- borne miscreants threw away the parts of a calf in housing board area and fled from the spot, SHO (Chopasni Housing Board) Jabbar Singh said.
"Soon the Shiv Sena activists gathered at the spot and started protesting. We rushed to the spot, pacified the angry Shiv Sainiks assuring them of arrest of the accused after which they dispersed," Singh said.
But later in the evening, the activists again assembled at a different location close to a mosque and started forcefully closing down shops in the market, he said.
The activists have called half-a-day bandh tomorrow in the city.
Strict vigil is being maintained across the city, especially to stop the activists from assembling. The situation is tense but under control, Singh said.
