Boiler for 5th unit of RPower's Sasan UMPP becomes functional

Reliance Power's equipment for the fifth unit of its Sasan ultra mega power project in Madhya Pradesh has started functioning.
"Boiler Light Up has been achieved for its fifth 660 MW unit at the 3,960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant," Reliance Power said in a statement.
First four 660 MW units of the project are already operating and the last unit is in advanced stages of construction, the statement.
Coal production has already commenced from the 20 million tonnes Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines associated with the power project.
Reliance Power has 3,205 MW power generation capacity, including 3,120 MW of thermal and 85 MW renewable energy sources.
The RPower scrip closed at Rs 95.40, up 2.69 per cent, on the BSE.
