Bollywood tweets Happy Independence Day!

Melody queen Lata mangeshkat tweeted a line of her famous patriotic song 'Ae mere watan ke logon'. "Swatantra Diwas par aap sab ko bahut-bahut shubhkamnayein. Jo shaheed hue hai unki, zara yaad karo qurbani (Happy Independence Day to all! Let's remember the scarifices made by the martyrs on this day)," tweeted Mangeshkar.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan posted, "Happy Independence Day... India breathed freely on the 15th of August 1947... In remembrance of those that fought and sacrificed!"

"Happy Independence Day! Let us take a moment out to remember the people who struggled fearlessly to give us this day. And a promise to do our bit for our country! Jai hind!," tweeted Bipasha Basu.

Other celebrities urged people to be fearless and fight for their rights.

"The free man is he... Who does not fear to go to the end of his thought. Be free today and always. Happy Independence Day," Shah Rukh Khan tweeted.

Karan Johar said, "Dear INDIA, your resilience supercedes your governance... It always has... Keep fighting and prove that you are beyond rule!!!"

"Happy Independence Day to all my Fans. Be responsible with ur freedom! Jai Hind!," posted Ajay Devgn.

"Every Indian no matter where they are from, or what religion they believe in, its a day we celebrate together. Happy Independence Day!!," Akshay Kumar tweeted.

"My parents gave me birth. My country gives me my identity. Proud to be an Indian. Happy Independence day my fellow Indians. Jai Ho," tweeted Anupam Kher.

"Swatantrata diwas ki shubhkamnaye... From a proud Indian!," said Sonakshi Sinha.

"My two favourite desh Bhakti songs: 'Bharat humko Jaan se pyaara hai' and 'dulhan chali pehan chali teen rung ki choli'!," posted Kunal Kohli.

Farhan Akhtar, Diya Mirza, Vivek Oberoi Rana Daggubati also wished their fans Happy Independence Day.
