Bomb kills two soldiers in Colombia

Two soldiers guarding an oil facility in northeastern Colombia were killed by an improvised bomb, the army has said.
The soldiers were killed yesterday in Norte de Santander state near the Venezuela border, at a facility where oil pipeline repairs are taking place, according to an army press release, which said an investigation was launched to determine what group was responsible for the attack.
The Bogota government for decades has been at war with two leftist groups, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the National Liberation Army (ELN), although it has not been determined if either was behind yesterday's attack.

Peace talks are currently underway in Havana, Cuba with FARC representatives, and parallel talks are set to start with ELN envoys later this year, as the Colombia government seeks to bring an end to more than a half-century of civil conflict.
