An unclaimed bag lying in front of the head post office at English Bazar town here created a bomb scare on Friday.
The bag was spotted by locals at Foara More and the police was informed about it this morning. However, only old clothes were found inside the bag, whose owner was yet to be ascertained, Malda Superintendent of Police Syed Waquar Raja said.
Vehicles were diverted from the busy stretch as it was cordoned off and bomb disposal squad and police personnel rushed to the spot.
The bag was removed by the bomb disposal squad personnel.
