Police officials said a car bomb went off at noon today near a car repair shop in an eastern district, killing seven people and wounding 16 others. The blast also damaged several shops and cars. Security forces sealed off the area.
Later, a bomb blast killed three people and wounded six on a commercial street in a southwestern neighborhood, police officials said.
A medical official confirmed the casualty figures from both attacks. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to talk to the media.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the Baghdad bombings. The Islamic State, a Sunni extremist group, has claimed past attacks targeting security forces and the country's Shiite majority.
