Sushil, son of a construction contractor Khushaal Rathore, was rescued from UP's Jalaun district, Superintendent of Police (Eastern area), O P Tripathi told PTI.
The kidnapper, Chandra Pal alias Chandra (28), has been arrested, he said.
Chandra was a tenant of the contractor. He kidnapped the boy on May 31 and then took him to Uttar Pradesh. He had yesterday called up the contractor and asked for a ransom of Rs 15 lakh to release his son, the SP said.
Meanwhile, police also managed to get a photograph of Chandra from his relative, based on which a search was launched for him, he said.
The boy was rescued when the kidnapper was planning to take him by bus in order to shift him to a new place, Tripathi said.
Interrogation of the accused was on, police added.
