CBI today arrested three persons in connection with a 2015 case of alleged bribery against former joint director of Enforcement Directorate of Ahmedabad J P Singh, who was probing the IPL betting racket.
Sonu Jalan, J K Aurora and Jaiyesh Thakkar were arrested in the case, CBI said, adding while Jalan and Thakkar were produced in the court today Aurora will be produced tomorrow as he was arrested from Delhi.
"Searches conducted at the premises of the accused in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi led to recovery of several incriminating material and cash worth over crore of rupees," CBI said in a release.
In 2015, CBI had registered case of criminal conspiracy under IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act against the 2000 batch IRS officer and several others.
The case was registered after ED wrote a letter to CBI seeking investigation against Singh, who was then Joint Director of ED in Ahmedabad and other officers. It was alleged that Singh indulged in extortion from those accused of money laundering in IPL betting racket.
The ED's Ahmedabad unit was probing two important cases - Rs 2,600 crore IPL betting scandal and Rs 5,000 crore money laundering case against alleged hawala operator Afroz Fatta in which the suspects allegedly sought favours.

A special court in Ahmedabad remanded Thakker and Jalan in CBI custody for seven days while Arora will be produced before court once he is brought here.
