BRIDGEi2i raises undisclosed amount from Edelweiss PE

BRIDGEi2i Analytics Solutions, s analytics solutions company, today announced it has secured an undisclosed amount in a first strategic round of growth capital (Series A) from Edelweiss Private Equity.
With this investment, Edelweiss Financial Services, the parent company of Edelweiss Private Equity, has acquired a minority stake in the company and Pranav Parikh, head of Edelweiss Private Equity, will join the board of BRIDGEi2i, the company said in a statement.
"This investment will fuel our ability to deliver greater value to customers by enabling us to accelerate the development of our machine learning-based business applications along with significant expansion of our consulting teams across India and the US," Prithvijit Roy, CEO, the Bengaluru-based BRIDGEi2i said.

DigitalOcean launches data center in Bengaluru * DigitalOcean, a cloud computing platform focused on simplifying cloud infrastructure for software developers, today announced the launch of its new data center in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru will be DigitalOcean's eighth region globally, following New York, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Singapore, London, Frankfurt and Toronto.
The center will feature DigitalOcean's latest servers and network architecture, which will ensure a consistent and seamless experience for users everywhere regardless of which region they select, the company said in a statement.

Leo Burnett India merges Publicis iStrat, Indigo Consulting * Leo Burnett India today said it is merging digital agencies Publicis iStrat and Indigo Consulting.
The Delhi-headquartered iStrat will be rebranded as Indigo iStrat and will continue to operate out of Delhi.
SlideApp raises $3.6 mn led by Songhyun Investment
* SlideApp, a lock screen app that awards Android users for reading content, today said it has raised USD 3.6 million in series A funding, led by Songhyun Investment.
With a download base of over 5 million, the platform plans to utilise the raised funds to scale up its user base, develop products and strengthen its brand presence in the market.

FreeCharge partners with Jet Airways for cashless tickets * Digital payments company FreeCharge has partnered with Jet Airways to allow users to pay for air tickets using its mobile wallet.
"Our alliance with Jet Airways is a significant step in further strengthening our presence in the travel & hospitality domain. The digital payments footprint in the country gets a major boost when leading online partners, like Jet Airways, give their users more and superior digital payment options," FreeCharge CEO Govind Rajan said.

* Domestic handset maker Micromax today said it has inked a partnership with OYO's to allow users to book hotels and get access to discount offers through pre-embedded app.
"Under this partnership, Micromax users will be able to avail exclusive deals through their Micromax handsets and also get instant updates for exclusive OYO offers," Micromax said in a statement.

Computers still preferred to find a job or learn skills * A majority of people prefer a computer over a smartphone as an education tool as well as for getting more job opportunities, a report by Kantar IMRB today said.
The report, which was commissioned by Intel India and has been endorsed by Indian School of Business, said personal computing will be "catalytic" in India's shift from content consumption to knowledge creation.
