British national died due to head injuries: Police

The British national, whose body was found on the Howrah-Delhi railway track last week, had died due to injuries suffered in the head, police said today.
A panel of three doctors today conducted the postmortem of the body of Evan Man Waring (56), said GRP Inspector Tripurari Pandey.
In the postmortem report, it has been mentioned that Waring died due to injuries in the head, he said.
Waring's friend Girad Rafael today brought an NoC from the British Embassy after which the postmortem was conducted and the body was later handed over to him, Pandey said.
Rafael wanted to cremate the body here so GRP officials took the body to Bhairon Ghat where the last rites were conducted, he said.

Waring was found dead on the tracks, around seven kms from central railway station here, on October 29.

On the day, Pandey had said prima facie it appeared that Waring may have been smoking at the gate of a moving train when he fell and was run over by another train.
Pandey, who visited the spot, had said a half-burnt cigarette was also found beside the body.
Pandey today said Rafael told the police that he and Waring were traveling to Delhi by the Dibrugarh Rajdhani.
Waring, who was depressed, had gone to the toilet to smoke early in the morning. He probably fell down from the train then, Rafael told the police, according to Pandey.

Rafael said he informed about Waring to the Delhi Police.
He said when he was informed about Waring's death from Delhi Police, he reached here.
