Left Front chairman Biman Bose addressing the rally accused the BJP-led government of being silent on the anti-people policies of the US.
Bose earlier this month had met CPI(ML) state leadership and had invited them to join the anti-capitalist rally in Kolkata today.
Both the CPI(ML) and SUCI had given a nod to the invitation of the Left Front and had joined today's rally.
State opposition leader Surya Kanta Mishra too was present in the rally.
The rally of the Left parties comes at a point of time when Left parties, especially Left Front, are having a tough time following the debacle of the Left in the last Lok Sabha polls.
