Brothers drowned as their boat capsized

Two brothers who had gone for fishing drowned after their boat capsized in the Sita river at Harady near Bhramavar in Udupi district, police said.
The deceased in the tragedy last evening have been identified as Suresh Marakala (36) and Jayakara Marakala (30) while their nephew, Avinash (23), who was also with them in the boat managed to swim ashore, they said.
The three of them used to fish in the river near their house regularly and were good swimmers but they were caught unexpectedly in a gush of wind and drowned, sources said.
Suresh is survived by wife and a year old son and Jayakara is unmarried.

Udupi fire brigade retrieved the bodies.
