Brothers shot dead over property dispute

Two brothers were shot dead by a group of assailants over a property dispute here, police said today.
Jeetu (26) and Raj Bahadur (29) were shot dead when they objected to some people tilling their field yesterday, SSP Shivsagar Singh said today.
The father of the deceased had taken a loan from a man against the piece of land, who in turn allegedly got it registered in the name of a constable whose family members were tilling the land, the SSP said.
An FIR has been lodged against six persons including the constable, the SSP said, adding that two of them have been arrested while hunt was on to nab others.

Investigations were on to find out as to how the land was registered in the name of the constable, the SSP said.
