BSF constable killed

A BSF constable was killed when the service rifle of his colleague went off accidentally at a camp in Panthachowk area on the outskirts of the city, police said today.
Constable Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, a resident of Shangus in south Kashmir, was killed when he was hit by a bullet from the rifle of his colleague at the camp of BSF's 92 Battalion here last night, a police official said.
Bhat's body was handed over to his next of kin after completion of legal formalities.
Police has started inquest proceedings under Section 174 (suspicious death) CrPC, he added.
