During his maiden visit to BSF Frontier Headquarters, Jalandhar, he was briefed by Inspector General Anil Paliwal about various operational and administrative activities that were being undertaken at the frontier.
Sharma also visited SHQ, Amritsar and held a conference with all the DIGs and Commandants of Punjab Frontier.
He was briefed about the operational activities being undertaken in the area.
Talking to media persons here this evening, he said to stop cross-border infiltration, ultra modern equipment were put to use and 19 more BSF companies deployed on Punjab borders adjoining Pakistan.
He briefed them about the welfare activities and other projects that were being undertaken in the Force for better border management and for improvement of infrastructure.
The Beating Retreat ceremony was held after which Sharma offered sweets and fruits to Pakistan Rangers at Zero line.
