A BSF jawan, who was absconding with a light machine gun (LMG) after allegedly stabbing a colleague last month, today surrendered before officers of his unit here.
He surrendered at the battalion headquarters at Akhnoor border.
"Constable Rajiv Ranjan has surrendered before the BSF this morning," said an officer.
Ranjan allegedly stabbed Rajbir Singh after a scuffle on July 24 and fled with the LMG and cartridges from Akhnoor sector.
On July 26, Punjab Police recovered the weapon and the cartridges and arrested two of his accomplices -- Mithun and Mohan Chaudhary -- from Jalandhar.
"The jawan is being questioned," the officer said.
