Fashion house Burberry is suing rapper and producer Burberry Perry for trademark infringement.
A suit has been filed against the singer by lawyers of the firm in New York.
It claims the officials previously served Perry with a cease and desist notice after they spotted the label's signature checkered print and equestrian logo on his self-titled EP, which was released in May and featured Kylie Jenner.
Burberry house received no response from Perry, whose real name is Perry Moise and so fired off emails to his management throughout June and July, reported Contactmusic.
"As a global luxury brand, Burberry considers the protection of its intellectual property vital for the health of its business and to safeguard its customers.
"As such, Burberry goes to great lengths to protect its creative designs and will take all necessary action against the abuse of Burberry trademarks," the bosses said in a statement.
The company is seeking "immediate injunctive relief", which will force Moise to remove any and all association with the brand, including his stage name.
Moise's representatives have yet to comment on the Burberry suit, but imagery related to the brand have been removed from the rapper's Soundcloud page and social media accounts.
