Burglar arrested from north Delhi

Police have arrested a man from north Delhi's Sarai Rohilla while he was trying to flee after allegedly committing a burglary at a shop.
The Police Control Room (PCR) staff saw a group of men running towards a car after allegedly committing burglary at a Patanjali shop in the wee hours of Monday, Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR), said today.
The officer posted the CCTV footage obtained by the PCR staff from the area on Twitter.
The footage shows the PCR van intercepting a car. While the other occupants of the car managed to flee, one man, identified as Vinit (24), was nabbed by Assistant Sub- Inspector Mahender Singh and Constable Amit Kumar, said the DCP.

A search of the car led to the recovery of a wristwatch, a high-end smartphone, two bags full of cigarettes and Rs 4,500 in cash, she added.
"The accused told the police that the articles were stolen from another shop. The burglars used an iron rod to break open the shutter of the shop," said the DCP.
The car, which was found to be stolen from Sultanpuri, was seized by the police.
