Bus hits man from behind, kills him

A man today died on the spot after he was run over by a bus near a railway level crossing gate near Kulgachi station in the district, the police said.
Falguni Parui (32) was riding his motorcycle and his mother was pillion riding on the way to a clinic where Falguni's wife had delivered their child four days back,
When the two approached the level crossing gate, they saw the gate was closed due to rail traffic, the police said adding, Parui asked her mother to cautiously cross the railway tracks.
"The victim's mother had crossed the tracks when a speeding bus hit Parui from behind. He was literally crushed in the impact and was flung to the opposite side of the tracks. The bus also crushed the level crossing barrier," a senior district police officer said.

The body was retrieved from the spot and sent for post mortem, the police said adding, a search was on to trace there whereabouts of the driver of the killer bus.
