He was presiding over a meeting of the regional transport authorities, bus owners and the public to discuss the appeal made by the Dakshina Kannada bus operators association seeking permission to revise bus fares.
The final decision on the bus fare hike would be notified within three days after detailed discussion, he said.
He also ordered that computerised ticket issuing machines be installed in all city, rural and service buses by the end of July.
