NGT's Delhi bench has, in an interim order, restrained the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Services (AMTS) from purchasing 100 diesel buses.
The state government, AMTS and Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation moved the High Court against NGT's interim order. They also challenged NGT's territorial jurisdiction in the case.
The division bench of Chief Justice R Subhash Reddy and Justice V M Pancholi today asked the state to raise the question of jurisdiction before the NGT itself on March 28, and kept the next hearing on March 30.
He had first approached NGT's Pune bench when AMTS floated the tender. The matter was later transferred to NGT's Delhi bench.
