Businessman honey-trapped, 1.5 lakh extorted from him

A businessman was allegedly honey trapped, abducted and a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh was extorted from him by a woman and three others in Kanota area on the outskirts of the city here, police said today.
According to a complaint filed with the police, the accused woman, along with her male accomplices hatched a plan to target a businessman.
She called him to Kanota and met him in her car.
After some time, three men came there and thrashed the businessman, police said.
They took him to an isolated place, called up his family members and demanded a ransom of Rs 1.5 lakh.

The accused freed him after getting the ransom, police said, adding efforts are on to identify and nab the culprits, following the complaint filed by family members.
