The Dimapur Police identified the deceased as Ashish K Saha, a cloth merchant by profession.
The victim was shot in the head at a vegetable market in the Lhomithi Colony, Dimapur yesterday, the police said quoting eyewitnesses that the miscreants came in a vehicle and fired at the victim.
The Police have registered a case and investigations were on.
Chief Minister TR Zeliang condemned the murder and said "Such heinous crimes do not augur well for the society and needs to be condemned by all, specially at a time when all Nagas are yearning for peace."
