Former state Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Vinod Shreedhar Tawade and Ashish Babaji Shelar were elected to the state Assembly in the recently-held elections.
As per the schedule, the notification for the by-election will be issued on January 13 and the election and counting of votes will be held on January 30.
While the term of Chavan in the upper house was to end in 2016, the terms of Tawade and Shelar were to end in 2020 and 2018, respectively.
A former NCP leader, Mete was disqualified as a member of Maharashtra Legislative Council under the anti-defection law. He was elected MLC from the NCP, but later fell out with the party and received a show-cause notice. He contested the October 15 Assembly polls from Beed on a BJP ticket.
