C'garh: BJP wins seven seats; leading in three others

The ruling BJP posted a victory in seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Chhattisgarh while maintaining a lead over three out of the 11 seats in the state.
The opposition Congress is ahead in the lone Durg parliamentary constituency, where party's former MLA Tamradhwaj Sahu is leading against BJP's popular woman leader Saroj Pandey with a considerable margin.
BJP's state unit chief and sitting MP Vishnudeo Sai registered a win with a huge margin of 2,16,750 votes from Raigarh (ST) seat against Congress' Aarti Singh, whereas another party strongman and sitting MP from Naxal-hit Bastar seat, Dinesh Kashyap defeated Congress candidate Deepak Karma by 1,24,359 votes.

From Bilaspur seat, BJP candidate Lakhanlal Sahu has defeated Karuna Shukla (Cong) by 1,76,436 votes.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and veteran Congress leader Charandas Mahant has lost to BJP's Bashilal Mahto by 4,265 votes.
Chief Minister Raman Singh's son and debutant Abhishek Singh won by a whopping 2,35,911 votes against Congress' Kamleshwar Verma.

BJP's prominent woman leader and sitting MP Kamla Devi Patle has captured her home constituency Janjgir-Champa seat (SC) against Congress' Prem Chand Jaisi by 174961 while in Surguja(ST), Kamalbhan Singh Marawi of BJP has defeated Congress' Ram Dev Ram by 1,47,357 votes.
BJP sitting MP from Raipur seat and veteran leader Ramesh Bais is leading by 1,71,646 votes against the incumbent Congress MLA Satyanarayan Sharma.

Besides, former minister and sitting BJP MLA Vikram Usendi is leading by 35,158 votes against Congress nominee Phulo Devi Netam from tribal reserved Kanker (ST).
Surprisingly former Chief Minister and Congress strongman Ajit Jogi, who was leading earlier, is trailing behind the BJP's sitting MP Chandulal Sahu by 1,217 votes.
In Durg, former MLA and Congress' Tamradhwaj Sahu is leading by 16,848 votes against national president of BJP Mahila Morcha Saroj Pandey.
In the 2009 general elections, BJP had won 10 out of 11 seats while the lone Korba constituency was captured by Congress.
