"Keeping in view the possibility of early monsoon, the state government has begun distributing interest-free agriculture loans to farmers for the coming Kharif season," Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank (Apex Bank) chairman Ashok Bajaj said today.
Primary agriculture credit cooperative societies have disbursed loans worth nearly Rs 924 crore to around 3 lakh 49 thousand farmers in the state in last two months, he added.
The distribution of short-term agriculture loans to farmers for Kharif season was started from this April 1, while the target is to disburse loans of total worth nearly Rs 2,800 crore, he said.
