Naxals today killed the sarpanch of Kunded village, who was a former member of anti-Maoist vigilant group Salwa Judum. In Sukma district of southern Chhattisgarh, police said.
Uike Bodaru (47) was stabbed to death by a group of Maoists in Kunded village under Jagargunda police station limits, Sukma Additional Superintendent of Police S R Bhagat told PTI over phone.
Bodaru was working in his field at the time. The village is 400 km from the state capital Raipur.
He was associated with Salwa Judum movement in the past, which could be the cause of the murder, the ASP said.
