C'garh PWD official found to be worth more than Rs 6 crore

The officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau today conducted searches at several premises owned by a 51-year-old executive engineer of Chhattisgarh Public Works Department, and discovered disproportionate assets worth around Rs 6 crore alongwith Rs 50 lakh in cash.
"The raids were carried out at the residence and several other premises of Madhyeshwar Prasad Shah, who is posted in Balodabazar district," a senior ACB official told PTI.
The exact value of his assets would be known after the assessment was over, he said.
Shah was found to be owning a three-story house in Ashish Nagar locality in Risali sector of Bhilai town, a crusher plant in Patan area, a house in Supela in Durg district and a house in Raipur's Kabir Nagar.

He also owns jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh, three tractors, a JCB machine, an SUV, a car and two motorcycles. Cash was recovered from his Bhilai house.
A case was registered against Shah under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Shah joined the PWD in 1985 as a sub-engineer in Dhamtari district.
