The 129 bodies in 31 out of 33 districts of the state are going to poll on August 17 for which the campaigning ended at 5 PM today, spokesperson of the Rajasthan State Election Commission said.
Altogether 10,582 candidates, including the ruling BJP and Opposition Congress, are in the fray for the Monday polls, while 45 candidates -- 23 BJP, 13 INC and 9 Independent candidates-- have already been elected unopposed after withdrawal of nominations, according to the Secretary of the Commission Ashok Jain said.
37.58 lakh electors, including 19.56 lakh female voters, will cast their votes at the polling booths in the civic polls.
Jain said that more than 27,000 policemen including home guards have been deployed under the security arrangements to ensure free and fair polls.
