SSP Anant Dev Tiwari today told reporters that six persons, including the kingpin, were arrested while five stolen vehicles, including two SUV cars, were recovered from them.
The gang had its area of operation spread over central and western Uttar Pradesh while the stolen cars, with changed car engine and chassis numbers, were sold in Meerut, the SSP said.
The kingpin of the gang, Urvesh Yadav (35), a resident of district Shajahapur, was also arrested, he said.
