Carcass of the big cat, with wounds on its chest, back and on rear parts, was found lying by the side of Modholi-Katwal Road this morning, a release said.
According to the department, the carcass was in decomposed condition indicating that the feline might have died earlier.
Carcass of a wild boar was also found nearby the spot.
As per preliminary reports, the big cat might have been wounded during its hunt of wild boars.
