Cardamom prices today rose by Rs 14.20 or 1.80 per cent to Rs 802.80 per kg in futures market after speculators enlarged positions supported by good buying in the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May rose by Rs 14.20 or 1.80 per cent to Rs 802.80 per kg in a business turnover of 225 lots.
In a similar fashion, spice for delivery in June gained Rs 8.20 or 0.98 per cent to Rs 838 per kg in 22 lots.
Market analysts said besides rise in demand in the spot markets and hopes of improved export demand, tight supplies from producing regions mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
