miscreants looted Rs 2.90 lakh cash at gun point from a panchayat executive officer (PEO) near Bagada locality close to the Paradip-Daitary expressway near here.
PEO Ramesh Chandra Das had drawn the cash from a bank and was on way for disbursal for old age and disabled pension in the panchayat office when two motor-cycle-borne criminals waylaid him at gun point last evening, police said.
The two, who snatched the bag containing the cash and fled from the spot, are yet to be identified. Investigation is on to crack the crime, said the police.
