The actor-choreographer, who previously served as a back-up dancer for Lopez, has been cast as Billy Kostecki in the three-hour revamp for America's ABC network, reported Deadline.
While Smart has an impressive resume as a dancer and choreographer, he's also appeared in a number of TV shows and films, including romantic comedy "The Perfect Match", which was released last week.
The 28-year-old joins an already star-studded cast for the television project, featuring Abigail Breslin and newcomer Colt Prattes in the roles originated by Grey and Swayze respectively, as well as Nicole Scherzinger, Sarah Hyland, Debra Messing, and Billy Dee Williams.
