Besides, firming trend overseas too supported the upside.
Marketmen attributed the rise in castorseed prices at futures trade to a firm trend at the domestic spot markets on the back of strong demand from consuming industries amid positive global cues.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castorseed for delivery in April climbed Rs 57 or 1.33 per cent to Rs 4,337 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,00,740 lots.
